How to split/merge PDF documents using PDFsam

Splitting PDFs

Right click an existing PDF, select Open With, then click PDFsam Basic

Once the PDF is shown in the list, click on Split

Select how you would like the document split from the options highlighted on the next image

Set up any other options that you would like, then click Run, if prompted with the below, please ensure that you are not going to overwrite anything important.

You will then see a loading bar at the bottom, when this says Completed, all your split pdfs should then be available

From the image you can see below, it has now created 20 PDFs (each one with the page number and PDFsam as a prefix)

Merging PDFs

Open PDFsam and select Merge

Drag and drop the PDFs you wish to merge into the PDFsam window (you can then use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to reorganise the pages if they are not in the correct order)

Set any other options that you deem relevant, then click Run and wait for the process to say Completed

You should now be able to go to the destination location and open the file.
