Introducing Windows 11 - The latest Operating System for our work computers.
Windows 11 is the latest operating system from Microsoft, and is the follow on from the one we currently use - Windows 10. On the surface of things this operating system looks and feels almost the same but does have some notable changes that you might need to get used to.
We have highlighted below the changes that you are most likely to notice in your day to day work.
Login Screen
The login screen no longer features a VPN button to worry about. Staff can now sign in via the “Other User” button in the bottom left corner.
Task Bar
The Start Menu has undergone a transformation—it’s no longer located on the left side. Instead, it now sits in the middle of the screen. Additionally, the Task bar boasts a few new features:

Copilot: Microsoft’s new AI offering, Copilot, is at your service. It allows you to ask questions and find information swiftly. For a more extensive introduction to Copilot, click HERE.

Task View: Keep unrelated ongoing projects organized using Task View. It enables you to create and switch between desktops seamlessly.
Task Bar Tray Menu
In the bottom-right corner, you’ll find the new centralized tray menu housing options for Sound, Wi-Fi, VPN, and more.
File Explorer
File Explorer now supports tabs, akin to a web browser. This feature allows you to toggle between multiple folders simultaneously.
Right Click Menu
The right-click menu has received an upgrade, prioritizing the options you use most frequently for quicker access.
However, if you find anything missing, the classic right-click menu remains accessible. Simply select “Show more options” to bring up the familiar menu.
