How to Check and Update Your MFA Settings
Introduction
This guide has been created for all Brandon staff to help you check, or update your current sign-in method and switch to Microsoft Authenticator if needed.
Process
- Navigate to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
- Use your Brandon Trust email and password to sign in if prompted.
- You’ll see a list of registered methods under Security Info.
- You may have multiple entries which could include:
- Text message (SMS)
- Phone call
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Email
- If you see SMS or phone call listed, and you already have Microsoft Authenticator set up, you can remove the older methods by clicking Delete next to them.
- If you do NOT have Authenticator you can set this up from here. Ensure you set up Authenticator, before deleting your old methods.
- Click Add sign-in method.
- Choose Authenticator app
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install and link the app on your phone.
- Once complete, ensure Microsoft Authenticator is set as your default sign-in method.
